People with disabilities are doing great things all around the globe. The mere fact that they are surviving and thriving with lesser privileges than a normal person is a quality that demands respect in itself. And yet they often go beyond us and reach heights greater than any of us ever could.
One such individual is the 23-year-old model Kanya Sesser. Born without legs, she was never held back by her disability. Apart from her modelling career, Kanya takes interest in various sports like skateboarding, mono-skiing, surfing, tennis, wheelchair racing, swimming and a lot more.

Growing up in a temple
Her story begins with a very unfortunate event. She was born in Pak Chong in Thailand and when she was one week old, her parents abandoned her at a Buddhist temple. At the age of five, she was adopted by a family and brought to Portland, Oregon in America.
Her life was very tough. From being abandoned by her parents to trying to find a place in the society, she has faced various issues in every step of her life. But her self-confidence and determination has always made her face every difficulty in life head-strong.
No legs? No problem
At the age of 15, Kanya started modelling sportswear. With her confidence and her beauty, she has won the hearts of many and has received massive attention on media. Today, at the age of 23, she has modelled for top brands including Nike, Billabong and Panty Prop.
“I enjoy making money from it and I love showing people what beauty can look like. These images show my strength. Modeling is something fun and it shows my story. I’m different and that is sexy, I don’t need legs to feel sexy,” said Kanya in an interview with New York Daily News. Her life motto is “no legs, no limits”.
Making her way up
After being so successful in her modelling career, Kanya has tried her hand in various other fields as well. Being a sports enthusiast and a brilliant sportsperson, she has taken intensive training at the University of Arizona to compete in the Winter Paralympic Games 2018 in mono-skiing. At school, she used to compete in 100, 200 and 400 meter wheelchair racing events.

In 2015, she appears as a guest in the TV series Code Black, marking herself in the acting scene as well. The most impressive thing about her, however, is that she rides around in a skate instead of a wheelchair. Just how talented can one be?
Today, she earns around $1000 a day from her modelling career and she isn’t done spreading her influence. She continues to motivate countless other disabled across the globe, all the while shining bright with her blazing beauty.
